Clare Trafankowska >
Head of IAB SA Measurement Council
Curious by Nature ~ Passionate about Humans ~ Fascinated by all things advertising ~ Philosopher of Life, Tech addict, Caffeine & Wine enthused ~Always Smiling!
The Measurement Council is headed up by Clare Trafankowska, Managing Director of iProspect and Vizeum, leading digital performance marketing and media agencies in South Africa, respectively.
Previously, Clare headed up Digital across dentsuX and Carat JHB & CPT. She was responsible for driving an integrated strategic digital approach across the company as well as ensuring all teams were equipped to drive digital transformation within their client teams, whilst maintaining a high level of thought-leadership.
Clare is passionate about people, media and the development of the next generation of marketeers.
She is fascinated by the ever-evolving world of media and takes great pleasure in the constant challenges posed by the disruptive impact that tech regularly has on the world around us. Having stumbled into the industry by accident, the adventure first began with Cinema and events co-ordination; gradually morphing in media owner sales, across first cinema and then into the ‘dark-side’ of digital, with the then resellers of Yahoo, Apurimac Media.
With over a decade of experience within the industry Clare’s first foray into the media agency world, was in 2017 and has since developed an insatiable energy for this fast-paced, engaging and highly dynamic environment.
She has an innate sense for people and thrives on the energetic buzz experienced when presenting and pitching. With thought-leadership and educational development (of self and those around her) being vital motivators for her, Clare naturally develops and promotes mentorship opportunities wherever she goes. Clare was a part-time lecturer at AAA in 2018; having facilitated the Digital Marketing Strategy NQF 7 course and believes that active contribution in the development of our industry is the only way in which we’ll successfully grow together. With that in mind, Clare is not only a Mentor for the recently launched Female Foundry initiative but is also an #IamRemarkable facilitator (which is a is a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond, encouraging them to push beyond glass ceilings).

Peter Langschmidt >
Member of IAB SA Measurement Council
Peter captained the under 11D football team, and after that zenith, his sporting career went steadily downhill. So, he decided to concentrate on media, research and advertising where he has spent the last 40 years. He is so old, that he remembers when newspapers had over 70% share of adspend.
A previous strategic planning and media director of SA’s largest agency group, Peter now specialises in working with media owners.
He is currently the lead consultant to the Publisher Research Council. The PRC conduct audience and efficacy research for all of the major newspaper, magazine and website publishing groups in South Africa, as well as the smaller independent publishers.
He has been on the IAB measurement council for over 8 years, and is responsible for weighting the IAB surveys back to the online universe derived from other surveys.
Peter has been the driving force in SA Media research for data fusion, that is combining disparate surveys into one aggregated single view of the customer. The current FUSION21 survey includes over 3000 brands, TV, Social, online and print usage and has 3.8 times more data points than AMPS ever had.
His football prowess is now confined to the foosball table in the pub that he owns, his beloved BeerHavenBadly.
